Taken by Angel mei - I was sitting in a corner of xtomic’s dressing room, waiting for time to pass, and she was randomly snapping me when she suddenly stood up and I suddenly faced her, making this grumpy-girl face, both at the same time.
[Addendum: Apparently some people find the picture ugly, with the weird makeup and sulky expression, but well, I look like the me in primary school. I like this shot.]
Me [to a friend who's looking for a new job]: What will you be willing to sacrifice for your new job?
Her: Erm…… my soul?
Of making full use of what you have:
Me: I think he really wants to go clubbing at St James.
Hina: Club at home lah! Play the music from your laptop.
Him: What about the lighting?
Taurus: You can on-off your room light switch.
Him: Right, and I have to stand there and press it all the time.
Me: Ask your brother to help you with the lights. Dohz.
Hina [deadpanned]: Cannot, wait people think it’s a haunted room, with all the blinking lights.
Him: Haha! Hey! *lightbulb appeared* I should put a notice outside my door - St Jim’s [his name] Club.
Us: -_______-” Laammmeee…
We were waiting for the couple to leave the hall so that we can take a picture with them when we realised there were 3 - 4 cameras trained on us. So xtomicers being xtomicers, we moved into position and posed for them cammies. Hur hur.
With the couple [Hina, what are you doing! Haha..].
It’s been such a long time since I have involved myself in volunteer work, and watching last night’s concert made me realise just how much I miss it.
Though it was not as grand and complex as the twoa nation in concerts, the show moved my heart nonetheless, on several levels, unexpectedly.
Some special mentions:
1) MINDS Taiko Drum Troupe
They opened the show with a spellbinding drumming performance [which I have seen before somewhere.. company's Dinner & Dance? ANIC?], settling everyone down for the show ahead. Halfway through the performance, one kiddo forgot his solo and his mates got naturally confused and unsure as to how to continue playing. As we, the audience, watched from our seats, the other performers became increasingly frustrated with the kiddo, with some shouting at him [to try giving him his cue] and others displaying crestfallen expressions. Somewhere about, someone started clapping encouragingly, and it was not long before the entire hall burst into loud applause for them. The show must go on, and the show did go on.
What a great crazy tiring hilarious happening two weeks it has been in Nihon! Oh gosh!
I do.not.want.to.leave.Japan.and.return.to.Singapore. For many reasons.
But first!
It was one long stretch of activities the week before I left. I do not have pictures for everything, hell, I cannot even remember what I did for some days. It is all a blur to me. -_-”
A good friend returned from Australia and the oldies got together….
.. to plan for the next meet-up. [Look at the different things we were all holding as our planner! An organiser, a mobile phone, a PDA, and.... 'month of December 2007' torn from one of those desktop yearly calendars. Laughs.]
