When one is really tired, one cannot:
1) make any connections
Me: What’s her [sister's colleague] name?
Sis: Dory.
Me: What’s her nickname?
Sis: Fish.
Me: But why??
Sis: *looked at me like I was an idiot*
2) speak properly
Me [rapidly]: I cannot talk.. I cannot.. Cannot.. I.. *fumble* Cannot start.. a… topic.. I cannot start a topic… Cannot.. I..
Sis [lifted one eyebrow up]: Yah, I can tell?
Me [still rambling like an on-going train]: … until I get some food and rest…
Sis [amused]: Uh huh.
Thank goodness for ever-patient sister.

[This is going to be a boring entry following A Series of Fortunate Events I]
And so I woke up all groggy and stumbly on my birthday itself to.. [guess what] run some errands.
Caught a powernap some time in the afternoon before heading out for dinner with the family.

The original place was too crowded so we settled for this.
My sudden craving for vietnamese rice noodles.

Remember my new cupboards in all their glory?
I came back home only for mother to point out that one shelf is sagging under the weight of my books.
*wails*

Can you see the slight bending of the shelf? I frantically took away all the books from the top layer down [yeah, I stacked my books on top of the other books due to space constraints], leaving it as it looks in the picture.
It’s been barely two months! They are not hardy at all.
So I did a QC, inspected all the other shelves and found that two shelves from the other cupboard are also sagging - one ‘cos of my other hard-cover books and the other ‘cos of all my cds.
What am I going to do???
[At this juncture, one just feel like saying "Ahoka!", with a stamping of the foot.]
Do not get Ikea’s billy bookcases no matter how pretty. Seriously.

God has an amazing way of taking care of His children. I am awed and humbled by His love!

Worried sick.
Yet a selfish part of me is reluctant, and very sad, to give up my dreams, my passion, my future plans.

To satiate L’s curiosity:
Me: How did you two meet? Was it when mum was already in nursing?
*both of them looked half-taken aback, half amused*
Mum: No, I was still studying then..
Me: So… was it love at first sight?
Dad [incredulous]: First sight? Half-sight and I was already…
Mum: *grin like a cheshire cat*
Me: *envious*

My dad was asking my brother about some video conference / conversation thingie when I returned home fifteen minutes ago. He was walking back and forth from the desktop in the hall to his laptop in his room, making me wonder what new IT gadgets or programs he has discovered and was having trouble using.
I logged on to my msn and only to receive a notification that he [my dad] has added me on his new. msn. account.
Horrors.
Next he’ll be blogging and linking my blog [which no family members except sister knows about] to his.
Horrors, O horrors.
The expression on my face must be something like this now.

My mum is a very cute mum.
Mum: Can you help me top up my Ez link card? *passed me a tenner and her ATM card*
Me [deadpanned]: Are you planning to give me an unlimited shopping spree birthday treat? I need the pin number.
Mum: ??
Me [devilishly]: =)
Mum: Oh, oh… *dug around in her wallet and passed me her NTUC link card*
Me: ….. *whines* Muuummmmm, that’s not the Ez link card either..
Mum: Ooops. =/
Feeling oh-so-bluey, and it’s not just because today is Monday. =(
