So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

Hi Everyman and everyone!

This will be the last time [I hope], so do bear with me.

From somewhere unknown [everything was deleted in a fit of anger after a heated disagreement with Ichitaka some 800 years ago and I have no records of it],

to blogspot,

Picture1.jpg picture by starmist01

to this wordpress account last year which I have grown really fond of,

blog

to the new one at: http://starmist.liquidblade.com/, shoutout of thanks to silly Cowboy and Uncle Mandy.

So what changes in the new place?
1) Writing style may differ a little. Considering how zen and fuss-free my life has become, there will be lesser emo posts [for now].
2) More interesting randomness, because things happening to and around me are all so varied.
3) More protected posts, since ’starm|st’ nick = easy to find me = more visibility = feels more naked and exposed. Feel free to contact me for p/w via email.

What stays the same?
1) Me! But plus qu’hier moins que demain.
2) Camwhoring photographs as usual.
3) My loves, my friends, my dog [right, like I really have one].

As usual, take me seriously when it is time to be serious, and don’t take my words for all they are when it isn’t time for it. My blog may be me, but I am not all that my blog is. ;) Please update your links, peeps! Arigatou gozaimasu!

starm|st: i’ll cough in his face when he checks my teeth

Cowboy Caleb: you know how clinics are always nippy cold???

Aston & All That

s t a r m | s t November 27th, 2007

[Never thought I'll be doing a food entry.]

A couple of us met up for dinner at Aston on Saturday evening.

The place was crowded and there was a queue when we arrived. Thank goodness for two of them who reached slightly earlier and were already in the queue. Arigatou gozaimasu!

Most of us ordered the prime ribeye xtracut, which is reasonably priced at SGD15.90.

Grouses:The waiters look really confused and blur, fumbling around with our orders several times over before getting everything right.

A friend’s xtracut was more than medium rare and he kept poking at the bloody tough meat [pun intended] in consternation throughout the meal.

But mine was done just fine. :)

steak

Yummy goodness. I love steak. Steak is good.

We headed down to Ice Cream Chefs thereafter. As you can see, I didn’t spend much time taking photos, but decided to enjoy the company and conversation instead.

He was doing a manicure for her.

All in all, I’d say I give 4 out of 5 stars for food, 2 stars for atmosphere [it was really difficult for proper convos in the noisy place], 1 star for location [ahem], 4 stars for [relative] price and 2.5 stars for service at Aston.

As for Ice Cream Chefs, 3.5 stars for food, 3 stars for atmosphere, 1 star for location, 3.5 stars for [relative] price and 3.5 stars for service. Overall pleasant experience. :)

5 reasons why I like Cowboy Caleb [not in the romantic sense of course, this guy is married, don't anyhow anyhow].

Now now, where am I looking? I look scary. -_-”

1) He is affable, and funny. And sarcastic. Ooh, I like sarcastic humour.
2) He pretends to be an chest-beating alpha male [emotions are for weaklings, hmm?], but in actuality he is a big softie.
3) He has heart. He cares, though it’s not always obvious.
4) He remembers the important things and people in his life.
5) And he [for some mysterious reason] remembers my birthday. I’m touched. =)

Dance

s t a r m | s t April 1st, 2007

*Updated *

Been ages since I last went Zouk, but some of them wanted to go, so…

[Another backdated entry]

We went in really late, yet we were the earliest of the group. Nothing interesting happened so some of us girls entertained ourselves by looking out for cute girls and laughing at people with spastic dance moves. After some drinks, more self-entertainment, some nonsensical talk, some boredom, we were herded into Phuture later by Mike [the place was sooooooooooooo crowded, goodness!] and that was when the groove got to us.

My super hot dance partner. Gosh, I thought I retained some of my ED techniques, but she has the hotness down pat. Spotted some of the guys salivating after watching us her dance. Laughs. We were also.. endorsing the same range of watches. :P Oh, don’t ask me what that guy behind was looking, I don’t want to know either.

Cheers to the group! Everyone dared drink anything except Long Island Tea. Hur hur.

Nadnut heart me! I heart Nadnut too!

Some of them acting high.

I think I am getting… o.l.d. :( Can’t keep up with such stuff. Maybe just once in a while.

For more, please go to Nad’s Zouk post.

*Updated*

Me: i‘m old already (oops, same age as you haha), not much energy left.
M: yar right.
you move good
add a little alcohol
even better, kinky moves
i think you girls dancing is very sellable on ebay
Me: -_-”
M: cant you see we guys were stunned looking
when you, nad and joelle were dancing?
we were actually pushing other guys off
becoz they tried joining in
lol
Me: serious! i didn’t notice that!

Escapade

s t a r m | s t March 31st, 2007

On one recent weekend, the lot of us went in to JB for some seafood and fun.

…because for some reason the seafood in Singapore is expensive despite the fact that the fish are the same and they are most probably brothers or something like that…

The meal was cheap, seriously. We ordered so much food and the bill came up to RM400 [there were twelve of us], with RM150 going to the lobster which some poor fellow owed a person.

Some of the dishes.

Everybody standing up to take the food because the tabe was too large.

A couple of them headed back to Sg after dinner while the rest of us ended up at Club Eden for drinks [where Alex kept charming some male bartender for free cans of coke, and Mike threw a hissy fit when the bouncer refused to let him in]. Have you ever danced in slippers and three-quarts? We were at our slackest and we were the slackest at the dance floor. -_-”

Was really exhausted and wanted to head home when Keith suggested eating lok lok for supper [Supper? Supper?? It was already 2++am! Supper to me is at 11pm!] and I perked up immediately. Lok lok are fresh food poked in skewers and cooked with a pot of hot boiling water, and everything’s done behind a van.

Drunk guy [yeah, right] at the lok lok place.

Actually I was trying to take a picture of the food cos I was fascinated by the novel idea of cooking at the back of the van but they thought I was taking them so. err. they posed and I took.

(You Drive Me) Crazy

s t a r m | s t March 21st, 2007

First her, then him, then him. Seems like I cannot escape this 6-weird-things-about-me meme. Yeeuurgghh. Vaguely remember doing something like this before. Deja vu deja vu.

These are the rules: Each player of this game starts out by giving 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write in a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. After you do that, leave them each a comment letting them know you tagged them and to read your blog!

1) I plastic-wrap ALL my novels [and I have a lot of books]. This is a habit I got off someone in the past. He taught me to take care and love books the way they should be taken care of and loved.
2) The way I take pills is to drink water first and then pop in the pills into my mouthful of water and swallow. Not the other way round. Hate the taste of bitter pills on the tongue. Yucks.
3) If I like a certain dish, I can eat it every day for months without getting sick of it. Which is why my college friends always proclaim that I live in my Fried Hokkien Mee land.
4) Once sunlight comes into the room, I’ll not be able to sleep anymore.
5) I tend to talk in rhymes without realising it.
6) I have a very big personal space. If too many people ask me out within a period of time, I will feel very stressed and exposed and will hide in my cave twice/thrice as long thereafter.

The poor souls I’m tagging:
1) Sister
2) Ah Dai
3) Hina
4) Angel mei
5) Pawprints
6) Fernie

Lazy

s t a r m | s t March 13th, 2007

So unbelievably late for this I think the babes will laugh at me if I blog about it now, so I’m going to be lazy and simply link the different entries about Jan’s birthday celebration at Walas. =P

Amazing Race

s t a r m | s t December 27th, 2006

Friday..

saw a seriously busy work day, with so many people dropping by for impromptu appointments. Ran all over town to complete my errands after work before rushing down to Butterfactory for a friend’s birthday celebration. Felt a little out of place cos I don’t belong in the group, but well, some of them were friendly so… =)

Some of us. That guy is cute, hur hur. [Ok, I. am. kidding.]

Needless to say, things became dramatic - a common thing whenever alcohol is involved, and the night didn’t end very well. Very badly in fact [here I have so many things to say but the friend doesn't remember anything, so nevermind. Would rather forget about it too]. *shaken* Last time check: 4.55am.

Saturday,

I woke up at 8am to a group of male voices shouting my name from the carpark beneath my place, and then a single male voice yelling “I Love You!” in an extremely agonised tone. It happened twice, so I stumbled from bed and peeked fearfully from behind the curtains to see who loves me, afraid it’ll be…..

Well, it wasn’t.

It was a tekan-the-groom wedding session and someone in the same block has the same name as me. -_-”

Nobody loves me. *pulls long face*

Headed down, all bleary-eyed, to Pregos for lunch, with Nad joining us for a quick bit, before desperately planting myself in Starbucks for much-needed cups of coffee. Evening came and it was down to Ivan bro’s place for a family-friendly Christmas celebration. Did the gift exchange and found out Ivan gor was my ‘Santa’! *grinz* Thankies for the thoughtful pressie!

Jerry looked sian cos he knew what his present was! Hur hur hur.

Little creatures of the sea from Meimei and Adrian.

It became not-so-family-friendly as the night got later. Ahem. Rich Monde decided to abandon me and went home to sleep. -_-” Someone became obnoxious because he was high and I got really pissed off. *fierce growl* I don’t think many of them have seen me that furious before? Ms Ho drove some of us back and 4 of them came over to my place for a bit. At… 4+am? It was quite funny, with the guys talking loudly and the girls trying to shush them cos my family was asleep. Doh.. Last time check: 5.23am.

Sunday..

was His day soon. Hurried down to Starbucks (again) to meet my favourite college babes for coffee and talk and gift exchange, and to gorge ourselves on dim sum. Midnight mass with Rich Monde and Pawprints ended super late, or should I say early? Poor Rich Monde was falling asleep during service. Tsk tsk. Think he is not used to old-school hymns. ‘Psycho-ed’ someone to send Pawprints home, and then send me home [we stay in opposite ends of Singapore!]. Oops. Received another beautiful gift. Last time check: 3.49am and I’m running on fumes.

Monday

was a way-too-stoned day. Woke up only to realise service was starting. Daaarnnniittt. *guilty expression* Went down to Starbucks [AGAIN! They should give me a VIP card soon!] to meet Himura Kenshin. Lazed there for an entire day chatting about the past, laughing at the present and thinking about the future.

There were ugly chicken puffs and uglier curry puffs. Laughs. I’m tickled.Ran out of fumes, so went home and concussed.
