Babble Fish

s t a r m | s t July 29th, 2008

When one is really tired, one cannot:

1) make any connections

Me: What’s her [sister's colleague] name?
Sis: Dory.
Me: What’s her nickname?
Sis: Fish.
Me: But why??
Sis: *looked at me like I was an idiot*

2) speak properly

Me [rapidly]: I cannot talk.. I cannot.. Cannot.. I.. *fumble* Cannot start.. a… topic.. I cannot start a topic… Cannot.. I..
Sis [lifted one eyebrow up]: Yah, I can tell?
Me [still rambling like an on-going train]: … until I get some food and rest…
Sis [amused]: Uh huh.

Thank goodness for ever-patient sister. :P

A Series of Fortunate Events [II]

s t a r m | s t June 26th, 2008

[This is going to be a boring entry following A Series of Fortunate Events I

And so I woke up all groggy and stumbly on my birthday itself to.. [guess what] run some errands.

Caught a powernap some time in the afternoon before heading out for dinner with the family.

The original place was too crowded so we settled for this.

My sudden craving for vietnamese rice noodles.

A Series of Fortunate Events [I]

s t a r m | s t June 13th, 2008

… and some unfortunate ones.

What craaaazy busy 5 days it has been! I feel almost normal again [not normal being the past few months where I didn't have a social life]!

I was in a holiday mood even before my actual day itself, but had to suppress it because of the amount of work waiting for me to clear. :/

Twas a pity I didn’t have my camera with me the past couple of days. Wonderful moments should be captured and immortalised. Urm, I was too busy enjoying myself half the time to snap anything anyway.

Happy 21st To Me!

s t a r m | s t June 6th, 2008

It’s my birthday and I’ll cry [laugh, be angry, be naughty, be 'attitude-y', be sarcastic, be mischievous, be sad, laladida] if I want to!

Not one, but two cakes! From two really really sweet good friends.

To be updated soon.

Happy 42nd!

s t a r m | s t August 9th, 2007

It didn’t feel like National Day til I watched the celebrations.

This year’s NDP is so different, so unique and beautiful! Holding it at Marina Bay, with Singapore’s skyline in view, it seemingly epitomise what Singapore is about, being in the heart of the city and overlooking our financial hub. The land, sea and air extravaganza was simply amazing, and need I mention the fireworks by the bridge?

Understanding the significance behind each performance, hearing the pledge and Singapore anthem, seeing the National flag on everyone’s hands.. I have to admit, I almost teared at certain parts.

I’m proud to be a Singaporean. Happy birthday, Singapore!

[Question, was the person who signed the pledge Aaron???]

The Sweetest Thing

Scraps and Pieces

s t a r m | s t June 19th, 2007

I am not in a good mood today.

It is not the typical today-is-a-same-old-same-new-day mood, nor a mopey I-am-missing-him-so-crazily mood. It is the snarl-growl-bare-fangs-I-just-need-a-reason-any-reason-to-strangle-kill-rip-someone-apart mood.

Something as innocuous as a person clearing his throat repeatedly in office is enough to make me bristle dangerously. Growl.

Anyway. Think happy thoughts.

For my birthday, Meimei did something so unique I am in awe of every time I flip through it. It’s a book. Of me. It’s a book she did [almost] from scratch, a book which took 3 days to complete. Scrappers will understand the amount of effort and detail that goes into a page. It’s not just cut and paste, cut and paste, and that’s it, no sirree no, it’s not.

Zeus & Friends

s t a r m | s t June 6th, 2007

5 reasons why I like Cowboy Caleb [not in the romantic sense of course, this guy is married, don't anyhow anyhow].

Now now, where am I looking? I look scary. -_-”

1) He is affable, and funny. And sarcastic. Ooh, I like sarcastic humour.
2) He pretends to be an chest-beating alpha male [emotions are for weaklings, hmm?], but in actuality he is a big softie.
3) He has heart. He cares, though it’s not always obvious.
4) He remembers the important things and people in his life.
5) And he [for some mysterious reason] remembers my birthday. I’m touched. =)

*Updated*
