plus qu’hier moins que demain

Before I engage in The Adventures of starm|st and mangO in the Day-Time, here’s a little sidetrack of The Curious Incidents of starm|st and mangO in the Night-Time in Osaka, our last stop for the Japan trip.

Sister and I stayed in a dorm room [with two other people] at Shin-Osaka Youth Hostel on our first night in Osaka. Needless to say, we came out of it scarred for life.

Some happy innocent-ly camwhoring in the middle of the room before we left to meet Haru, our new *ahem* friend and guide [and before our two roommates arrived].

Curious incident 1: 

The ‘drama’ occurred when we went back to the hostel late at night. I was at the lobby [which was on the 10th floor, such a weird hostel that was] where Haru was trying to get me to rendezvous with him for the next two days [yes sis, he actually used that word!]. Sister went down to our room to give us some privacy, and to wash up for the night.

Upon returning, I saw sister hanging around outside our room, looking desperate and traumatised.

Apparently when she entered the room, one of our roommates was going at it on the upper bunk of the bed [not ours, whew] with a guy. The bedcurtains were drawn across but sister saw, through the lights and the shadows, the person on top freezing, lifting himself up by pressing his hands against the bed, and turning towards the source of noise [ie: sis]. Kinda like one of them tribal shadow plays. There were even gutteral noises from the couple. *Laughs til chokes*

Ahem.

Anyway, the guy was long gone when I bravely entered the room with sister creeping behind, so there was no free show for us to catch.

Curious incident 2: 

Then sister and I decided to pack our buys and other stuff into our backpacks. Uh uh. Not a very wise move. Even though we were trying to keep the noise level down by signing to each other instead of speaking, and opening our plastic bags v.e.r.y s.l.o.w.l.y, the crackle of the bags sounded like firecrackers in the de*d of the night. *cringe*

Minutes after sister and I speculated about the sexuality of the roommate on the lower bunk [shis leg was not covered by the blankie nor the bedcurtains and was shapey but muscular and hairy], (s)he sat up irritably from shis bed and the blankie fell away, revealing shis unclothed body. I froze in mid-sign to sis and abruptly lowered my eyes to my bag. Everything went blank thereafter. I think sister turned to look at shim, but I can’t be sure. I think (s)he stood up in shis full glory and kinda growled before getting back in bed and flipping the blankie back on shis body, but I can’t be sure. I know I saw shis unclothed body but until now, I can’t recall if shis a male or a female. (S)he has shoulder-length blonde hair but shis build was like a man - tall, big, burly, uhh, well, manly. (S)he could probably flip me on my back ala WWF-style and send me back to Sg with one swift kick.

Well, one can’t be sure.

Curious incident 3:

It was just before we retired into the night. The curtains [from picture 2] were apart and the night lights were spilling in, so I went to draw our side of the curtains. Sister gave me the wtf-are-you-doing look and went to draw the other side shut, to my weak protest of but it’s over at their side! She then went to the restrooms while I sat on her bunk with my hands cradling my head, elbows on knees.

Then.

Mr(s) Candidate for WWF huffed and growled flipped shis bedcurtains across stomped to the windows and yaaannnkkked the curtains open viciously then stomped to the light switches and slammed the switches to off mode [all the while glaring at me I'm sure of it even though I didn't see it; my head was down the whole time but I could feel my skin burning] then climbed back into bed and swiiissshhhed back the bedcurtains.

*weak wobbly legs*

Sister came back in a timely fashion and I related the incident to her before stuffing myself into the upper bunk fearfully.
