I have an apple and you have two,

You give me an apple and I have one.

I eat one apple, and give one back to you.

I don’t have any apples, you still have two.

Stalker [I mean Me]

s t a r m | s t February 26th, 2008

When one blogs, anything and everything that happens can be blogworthy.

After meeting some people for coffee at Science Park post-workshop ["Welcome to Geekland, where geeks roam free without getting stoned and speaking in l33t is encouraged," said him when I commented on the state of the place], I made my way home on the bus when a man sitting behind me started picking up another man.

“Take peektures!! Blog it!!” said BFF, very 38-ly, when I smsed him about it.

Indian man cornered the other by casually asking for the time and then moving in veeeeerrryyyy close to the man, like face-to-15cm-apart-face-close [not shown in picture obviously since I missed the moment].

man1

Indian man went as far as to touch and caress the other’s thigh repeatedly and nudge his leg suggestively against his. The other man started crossing his arms in defense and inching to the corner but was still polite.

A quiet moment. Perhaps he was contemplating his next move?

They were still on the bus when I got down half-hour later. I wonder what happened next.

Two

s t a r m | s t February 19th, 2008

Random two [edited].

2nd week.

.. and I am already clocking 12 hours a day. *cries*

There goes any form of social life. *cries more*

2 kids.

Was having dinner when this lil kid of kindy age came up, asking me if I would like to buy his chinese newspapers. I scanned around the cafeteria. He was alone. He was alone, he looked tired and uncomfortable, and his speech sounded like he is suffering from severe hearing loss [but methink it is more likely to the lines of no proper schooling and teaching, thus sounding so delayed].

Where are his parents? I wondered. Did they make use of him to garner sympathy for money? Or are they busy working elsewhere and needed him earn a little more to survive?

I was angry, and not just a little sad. Told myself not to jump to conclusions.

For some strange reason, I was reminded of this kiddo I saw in Melbourne.

kiddo

Daddy put him on a leash, like a dog. Urgh.

Singapuke-ah

s t a r m | s t February 12th, 2008

This is darn hilarious!

An excerpt:

In 1819, an Englishman named Inspector Sir Sergius Wat Zhiwen from Raffles Institution stumbled upon Temasek, mistakenly thinking it to be New Jersey. In his drunken state, he signed a document granting the British Empire possession of Temasek, a handover that greatly annoyed all the other colonies and the Empire as a whole. Britain paid minimal attention to Temasek, even going so far as to allow casual day in Temasek when India was refused it till 1934. Unable to correctly pronounce “Temasek”, Raffles motioned to rename the island “Snog A Wh*re”. After the proposal was rejected three times by the British parliament, Raffles eventually relented and renamed the island Singapore.

Open The Floodgates

s t a r m | s t February 3rd, 2008

the bright light shone on his cheeks, creating grooves and shadows across his face as he swayed to the music. his jacket swished around gently, his fingers clamped confidently onto the microphone as he led the rest in singing. i stood a distance away from the stage, looking, no, staring unblinkingly at him. it felt as though someone punched me hard in my stomach. my mind whirled days weeks months past, crazily shakily back and forth the mobius strip.

he looks exactly like how i imagine you will look in three years’ time.

i wonder what you are doing right now; if you are smiling in your sleep, or in your car driving somewhere, if you are having a meal indoors safe from the rain, if you are holding or being held, if you are being loved.

what a change two hours brought in me - and in those hidden moments there resides a pain from the past, the intensity slashes through my self bringing back all the heartbreak the memories the tears. i think i was there but i was not. there was the speaker, there was my friend, and there were all the people. i was there yet i was not, and it was because of you, him, you, up there on the stage.

today service hurts so bad, in such a different way.
