Food, Glorious Food

Melbourne has a wide variety of cuisine [though not as much as Sg of course].

The first four days of Melb life was miserable as I was down with stomach flu, throwing up whatever that can be thrown up. So just imagine how miserable it was ‘cos all dinners were fully sponsored, along with free flow of..hmm..whatever you want. And I could barely eat or drink anything.

SULK.

food 1

This is Upstairs, the High Society Bar, a cosy place with muted lighting. An affable director, upon knowing that I was down [ill], kept insisting that I should get a bottle of red wine to cure my stomach flu. Right.

I saw a beautiful artistic room and decided to take some quick shots of it. I think this is called Rino’s Room, a room to provide couples with some semblance of privacy.

Matching lamp hanging above, pretty!

food 4

This is only the appetiser. Was too sick to take a picture of the mains.

The food was great. Even with my wanting-to-throw-up-all-the-time, I know the food was great. They created a special menu for the lot of us, and the restaurateur took great care to make our dinner experience a wonderful and personal one.

food 5

You can almost imagine a fireplace and Santa Claus dropping down from the fireplace.

food 7

Some appetiser.

Stomach flu was still raging in me so I didn’t enjoy the dinner much. BUT. Food was good, what not to complain about it?

food 8

The plate of pasta looks small but it is enough to feed 2 people.

food 9

Well, this is actually chocolate fudge ice cream. Once again, enough for 2 people.
