Everybody’s Fool

s t a r m | s t January 10th, 2007

Within the span of 4 days, 3 people (actually 5) told me I’m too idealistic.

Maybe I grew to be idealistic because I got burnt and became cynical (is that an oxymoron or what).

Time is Nothing

“Stop waiting and be free. Of him - put him deep inside you and then go out in the world and live. Love the world, and yourself in it. Live, fully, present in the world, which is so beautiful.”

Lost

s t a r m | s t January 7th, 2007

Sometimes I don’t know myself anymore.
Each time it happens, I get destroyed, bit by bit.
Tell me, how can I move forward when every step I take pushes me back to where I don’t want to be?
The damage is threefold, perhaps more, and I’m sinking in deeper.

Bookaholics

s t a r m | s t January 2nd, 2007

Whenever there is a book sale, the same old people will always be there; Claud, Eve, Mango, Pawprints, Hina, Le petit prince, and me. We should form a book club or [considering the huge number of books we have, we should] build a library of our own.

The lot of us trooped down to the Books warehouse sale at Expo all on the same day, but at different timings. I was so focussed on the books [starmist goes into full-concentration-block-everything-else-out mode when selecting books] that I only half-noticed it when Le petit prince appeared out of nowhere and slapped a book into my basket. “Your sister asked me to get it for her, keep it for her okay,” he said very seriously. I took a look at the book.

-_-” He has a very dry and dire sense of humour sometimes.

New additions to my collection!

1) Big Mouth Strikes Again - Tony Parsons [I think I have all his books. Goodness.]

2) Love Stuck - Susie Gilmour [Chick lit sister likes so much.]

3) Living and Working Abroad: Havana - Mark Cramer

4) Globetrotter Queensland - Bruce Elder

5) Explorer France - Adam Ruck

6) Avoiding Prison + Other Noble Vacation Goals - Wendy Dale

7) Not So Funny When It Happened - Assorted travel writers

Seems like my current craze is travel books, though it is quite uncharacteristic of me to leave the hall with only 7 books. Sister, on the other hand, went into a frenzied mode and bought 45. freaking. books. I think she is mad.
