Life, Interrupted

s t a r m | s t February 28th, 2005

It was a dark and chaotic scene, dipped in shades of red and black. The tension, the anger, the murderous intent hung thickly in the air.

There were lots of shouting and cries for help. People were running after and away from others. She charged after the fleeing girl. Marking her, hunting her down, intending to give her a piece of mind for stealing her friend’s boyfriend.

The fury that she felt was unduly strong. And undeserved. Catching up with the girl, she rained insults at her and vowed to have revenge. With a strength she didn’t know she possess, she gave the girl a mighty push which sent the helpless girl tumbling down the stairs into the darkness of the tunnel.

And then there was silence. A long, eerie silence.

The girl didn’t move to get up from where she was lying. The rain beat down on the earth, unrelenting and harsh. Everything was soaked, nothing was spared. She stared at the scene in front of her, unwilling to believe what she has just done.

She was led into a small room, which was surprisingly cosy and fully furnished. There were no windows, only a heavy metal door. As she sat down slowly on the bed, the small click of the lock on the door sounded the permanent death knell for her life.

She hung her head for a very long time.

Dreamt this last night. So scary, right? That a person’s life can be changed just by a single action. :/

Cranky

s t a r m | s t February 16th, 2005

You know it’s time for a new handphone when your current handphone:

1) refuses to give you the messages your friends claimed to have sent you, or
2) beeps every half a minute for 30 minutes to let you know you have messages coming in but when you check, there is nothing,
3) proclaims you have no inbox messages, but they are all there,
4) notifies you of missed calls that were never missed, and
5) disallows you from picking up incoming calls.

(Just so that you guys won’t think I am avoiding anyone or being dao.)

Cold

s t a r m | s t February 11th, 2005

In the past, I’ve always favoured cold weathers over warm ones.

Because feeling cold was just… that. Cold. Cool cold, windy cold, wintery cold. Feeling the cool air teasing and brushing against my skin made me feel clean, happy and free.

Warm weathers were another matter. The heat, the humid still air, the wanting-to-melt-in-the-concrete feeling, the stickiness of the skin, the perspiration. All these just contributed to the ick factor.

In the past few months, I’ve woken up several times feeling extremely (abnormally?) cold. Mind-numbing cold. So cold that my skin felt like it would crack and shatter. So cold that my heart would tremble and shake within me. So cold that I felt as though my soul has been taken away from my body.

Coldness, I discovered, isn’t that good after all.

I long to feel the warmth once again.

Can I not feel so cold anymore?

Suddenly

s t a r m | s t February 10th, 2005

Suddenly.

Pain.

Pain, pain, pain, pain, pain.

Unspeakable. Unstoppable. Choking. Crippling. Helpless.

Will you be willing to meet me halfway?

It’s A Dog’s World

s t a r m | s t February 9th, 2005

Isn’t this the cutest dog ever?

Meet Bella, my aunt’s Shih Tzu who kept jumping and sliding around the entire house.

(It really is beyond my comprehension why King and co. said this breed of dogs isn’t cute nor good-looking, they are simply lovely!)

While we are on the subject of dogs, this is KK’s Jack Russell, Fintoe, an affectionate dog who touched my heart. He snuggled up to me, nosed me around and gave me kisses the first time I met him. Perhaps he could sense how I was feeling at that time?

And Yuppy (Kenshin’s dog of 9 years), the most beautiful and regal-looking dog I’ve seen, just died today. :( Supposedly of a heart-attack. :( I like Yuppy a lot.
